Frequently Asked Questions

When are group rides?

We generally host group rides every Tuesday evening from May – September.

For information on our next upcoming ride, check our calendar or our Instagram.

Group rides are usually less than 20 km in total. They’re designed to be able to complete comfortably in an evening. Most rides start and end at Bikechain.

Bikechain’s group rides are casual, conversation-paced rides, not racing rides.

All of our rides are “no drop”, meaning no one will be left behind.

Each ride has a designated “sweep” whose job is to be the very last rider in the group.

If you don’t have a bike of your own, try using Bike Share Toronto.

If you’re a U of T student, you can borrow a bike from us through our free bike rental program (but make sure to arrive beforehand during regular shop hours to sign it out!)

Nope! Just come by and join us.

We strongly recommend that every rider have a helmet, front and back lights, and a bell to be safe on the road. We sell these at Bikechain during our regular shop hours.

If you’re not sure whether your bike is in good enough shape to ride, bring it to Bikechain during our regular shop hours and we can help you assess it.
